    ELECTRICAL CONTACTS FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF SPECIFICATIONS

    ODU SPRINGTAC®

    4-WIRE MEASUREMENT

    The specialty of this flat socket lies in the two contact halves, which are insulated from each other. The ODU SPRINGTAC® flat socket is therefore suitable for 4-wire measurement (Kelvin measurement), a standard measuring method for precise measuring of low electrical resistance. With over 50,000 mating cycles, it is ideal for use in measuring applications.

    QUICK-CHANGE HEAD

    With the ODU QCH quick-change head (connector saver) principle, the socket has a contact pin termination instead of a conventional cable termination. The sockets are integrated in an insulator (interchangeable part) which can be front-mounted to the connector. This way, the test adapter can be exchanged quickly and easily without any further assembly.

    Submarine charging connector

    ODU springwire contacts are used in a special high-performance charging connector at submarine mooring points, where the tough environmental conditions place high demands on the connection. ODU SPRINGTAC® contacts are particularly well suited for the task, thanks to their extreme reliability and durability.

    Contacts for welding current transmission

    Our ODU SPRINGTAC® offers top performance for welding current transmission in a tool-changing system. An intelligent crimp termination system ensures maximum flexibility in the tiniest of installation spaces – as well as one million mating cycles. 

    ODU LAMTAC®

    CONTACTS IN TESTING SYSTEMS

    The reliable transmission of high performance under climate changing conditions demands high requirements to the contact system and connection technology. ODU LAMTAC® combines these in this docking solution in an extraordinary way. Benefits for the customer are low coupling forces and a temperature stable termination technology.

    Snow groomer engine

    ODU lamella contacts form an interface between the inverter and the electric power system, of the snow groomer’s engine. For this customer-specific solution, the high-current carrying ODU LAMTAC® contacts were integrated into the smallest of construction spaces.

    Electric Surfboard

    Even a novel electric surfboard had a requirement for ODU lamella technology. The ODU LAMTAC® contacts serve as an interface between the power supply, speed regulator and drive motor.

    Contacts for connectors

    The universal properties of the ODU TURNTAC® typically make it the number one choice for connectors in automation or other industrial applications. Even the smallest of dimensions allow for high contact density. The sophisticated contact technology combined with our surface engineering enable reliable contacting even in the most challenging operating conditions. 

    Battery storage system

    The angled ODU pin contact contacts an ODU TURNTAC® socket and thus connects the modules of battery storage systems. The ODU product, which we manufacture including cable assembly, guarantees easy installation. A special protection against unintentional disconnection ensures perfect connections.

    ODU STAMPTAC®

    Charging connector for electric vehicles

    Our ODU STAMPTAC® standard contacts for automated processing in the high-volume serial production of charging plugs (IEC) are a cost-efficient alternative for high volumes. Thanks to the integration of an overmolded sealing element, customers have the additional benefit of shortening the process chain while still achieving IP 67.

    Contact with push-in terminal

    These high-performance stamped contacts for an automation technology assembly do not just require precise manufacturing ‒ they also demand a great deal of experience and knowhow in matters of design and contacting. Optimal functioning, however, can only occur through perfect surfaces. Our ODU STAMPTAC® technology therefore relies on our ODU surface technology. The selective gold-plating we apply is resource-friendly and ensures reliable connecting.

    A HEART OF GOLD – GOLD-PLATED CONTACTS NOW AVAILABLE AS STANDARD

    The contact is the heart of the connector. For the first time, all ODU contacts in our standard range are available with gold plating. Certain precious metals are commonly used as contact coatings, of which gold is among the most corrosion resistant. It does not corrode even when exposed to aggressive environmental influences (dirt, weather, chemicals, etc.) for a prolonged period. In other words, its contact properties do not degrade over time.

    Our gold-plated contacts offer:

    • A corrosion-resistant coating that can withstand challenging environmental conditions
    • Low contact resistance and stable signal transmission
    • High contact safety due to a large number of contact points

    Gold thus offers numerous advantages for applications requiring a high degree of reliability – for example, in industry, military and security technology or in medicine.
